Free vibration of functionally graded porous beams with varying cross-section

Abstract

This article gives the vibration behaviors of functionally graded porous beams with varying cross-sections. By using a simple beam model and finite element method, we can calculate the natural frequencies for cantilever beams under the influences of porosity as well as non-uniform cross-section. Some examples of estimating natural frequencies for this structure are given, which show that our method is simple and reliable.
